My sewing projects

The Bombshell Dress!  From Gertie's class on Craftsy.com.  What a fun class, I learned many new techniques, such as fitting a muslin, using a pattern with no seam allowances and downloading the pattern from a website, boning and some hand sewing techniques.

This a a dress that I had put aside as a "wadder."  It didn't fit right, it was too tight in the waist and too big in the bust.  After taking Gertie's class, my confidence was at a new high so I pulled the dress back out.  Refit the waist by letting out the zipper and I ripped out the bodice,     added bra cups and voila!  It fits!  I made this from a gorgeous wool crepe that I had bought years ago and never used.

  1. I love both dresses! I thought the class was great, too and have a dress I need to rescue in the same way. I love the color on the blue dress, too. Great job.
